All our programs provide opportunities for exploration, discovery, creativity, problem solving, and social interaction. Please note that only students who have a confirmation from the Early Education Center are eligible for enrolling in one of the programs at the EEC.

Which program is right for your child?

Children under 3 years of age with or without developmental concerns

If your child is under the age of 3 and you would like a developmental screening to learn more about their development or because you have developmental concerns contact Parents as Teachers at (816) 321-5453.

Parents as Teachers also provides free support to families of students of all ages, prenatal to pre-k.

Children 3 years of age or older with developmental concerns

If your child is over the age of 3 and you have developmental concerns, the Early Education Center provides a free developmental screening. Through this screening, you will receive additional information on your child's development as well as connections to resources that can support you and your child.

Children over the age of 4 and interested in the free preschool programs

NKC Schools offers free half-day and full-day preschool to children the year prior to kindergarten.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Birth dates between 08/01/18 and 07/31/19
  • Completed developmental screening
  • Families must meet Free & Reduced Meal guidelines for the Free Full day program

Screenings for free preschool are full through September. If you would like to be notified when additional screening appointments become available, please complete the Screening Notification Waitlist form.
